Biography

Yuki Onishi is a Project Researcher at the National Institute of Informatics (NII), Japan.

He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Engineering, Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly known as Tokyo Institute of Technology), Japan.

Research Interests: Control Theory, Humanoid Robotics, Science Communication

Yuki Onishi (born in 1998) is a Project Researcher at the National Institute of Informatics (NII), Japan. He received his BEng, MEng, and DEng degrees in Systems and Control Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2019, 2021, and 2024, respectively. During his graduate study, he was a principal investigator of the strategic basic research program ACT-X by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) from 2020 to 2023, a research fellow at Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2023 to 2024, and a visiting graduate student at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, UK, in 2023. Prior to joining the NII, he was a Principal Research Scientist at the Future Robotics Technology Centre, Chiba Institute of Technology, Japan.

He is a member of the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), the Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (JSIAM), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), where he belongs to the Robotics and Automation Society (IEEE-RAS) and Control Systems Society (IEEE-CSS).
